Membership

Following the Special General Meeting held on the 27th March 2007, it has been agreed that holders of the new Heritage Season Ticket (the former Heritage Pass) will automatically become members of The Friends, and accordingly no further fee will be payable to The Friends of Guernsey Heritage.  The Friends' administration costs will now be covered by a grant from the Culture & Leisure Department rather than from direct membership fees.

It is still possible to be a direct member of The Friends without also holding a Heritage Season Ticket (for juniors and overseas members only), but it is expected that the vast majority of Friends will wish to benefit from the cost saving and other benefits available as holders of the Heritage Season Ticket.

Renewal forms have been sent to existing Heritage Pass members for renewal when their current membership year expires, but such holders are now automatic members of The Friends.

A Newsletter has been sent to all existing members of The Friends explaining the new arrangements.

If you have any questions on the membership, just email the Membership Secretary or the Treasurer at The Friends' email address, or call the Treasurer on 265931.

Our membership of BAFM brings several benefits including attractive insurance cover for our activities.  This cover includes £5,000,000 of Public Liability Insurance, £5,000,000 of Employers' Liability Insurance (required when we are organising activities where volunteers are involved) and a limited amount of Personal Accident cover for members when involved in project work organised by The Friends.
